My name is Mar and I was born and bred in Andalucia.
Following my marriage to my English husband, we moved from my homeland to the lively, bustling city of London where we are now based.
My interest in all things olives really started when I was diagnosed with diabetes type 2 about 5 years ago. The doctor advised me to go onto a Mediterranean Diet and to consume only Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) as a fat along with doing more physical exercise.
Nowadays my level of sugar is balanced without any drugs thanks to his advice.
From that moment, and because I am a curious person, I started to research about this fantastic oil. So far I have attended different courses in Spain with some of the best leaders in this sector or industry. They have passed their passion and knowledge on to me and I am contributing to expand the olive oil culture in London through tasting sessions, workshops and master classes.
Mar de Olivos is a family run business. Translated it means “Sea of Olives Trees” which is what you can see when travelling across some parts of Andalucia. We supply delicatessens or shops specialising in fine food, along with individual customers.
