The Spanish Olive Oil Tasting Club is the hub in London for those who are curious or passionate about EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) and want to learn more about this fascinating and ancient product. Spain is the world’s largest producer of extra virgin olive oil with more than 260 olive varieties, for instance, arbequina, hojiblanca, picual, cornicabra just to name a few of them. In addition, EVOO is one of the most common ingredients in the Spanish gastronomy. I have attended different courses in Spain and England with some of the top experts in this industry and in some of the most well-known centres for studies of Olive Oil such as the University of Jaen (Spain). Therefore I am able to hold tasting sessions for different levels of expertise: from introductory level to more advanced. The sessions are held at «Olives and more» (our Spanish deli shop inspired by the olive tree) in Forest Hill. During these sessions, firstly you will discover how EVOO is made, secondly how to assess the quality by tasting the oil, thirdly its uses in the kitchen and its health benefits. Within the sessions, we taste some award-winning Spanish Extra Virgin Olive Oils. After that, We like to finish the session enjoying some Spanish tapas and possibly learning or exchanging some recipes. In addition, joining the Spanish Olive Oil club will bring you access to our news and special offers to purchase Oils. We organise trips to Spain to visit among other places an olive mill where we can see firsthand the harvesting and production of fine extra virgin olive oil.
