Flos Olei 2016, The best Olive Oils

Flos Olei 2016 has been published recently (Oct 2015) and we are very proud to announce that some of the oils we are marketing are again included in it. Hurra! Some of them are rated very highly indeed and our oils scored (out of 100) as follows:

  • Finca La Torre– Top 20 “The Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil of the Year”.

We already mentioned this prestigious annual Italian guide “Flos Olei” last year, where all our oils were included. Flos Olei is one of the references to the world of Extra Virgin Olive Oil for producers, distributors, marketers and consumers interested in good food. In fact, anybody who wants to know what is happening in this sector should buy a copy. Marco Oreggia, journalist and wine critic, is the editor and publisher. He coordinates a team of international expert tasters to provide, at every harvest, a list of  500 companies that are,  in their opinion, the best in the world. As a point of interest,  in December  2016 Marco Oreggia will go to Jaen to take part in “Experiencia Premium2”  along with the Spanish olive oil expert M Paz Aguilera.

Flos Olei considers oil producing companies from different countries on all five continents. It normally provides a wealth of information about the mills, their oils, production techniques and data, varieties, areas protected by designation (DPO) and finally includes a sheet with tasting notes about the oils and food pairing recommendations. There is a special mention for “The Best 20″ according to different criteria, such as Farm of the Year, Emerging Farms and so on. In this edition Flos Olei 2016,  one of the extra virgin olive oil we are marketing has been included in “The Best 20″: Finca La Torre as “The best  Extra Virgin Olive Oil of the year”. So we are very happy that we can enjoy it in England.

So well done to our mills for this recognition that rewards their dedication every harvest to produce some of the finest Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the world.
